Who is responsible?

FilmPass Ltd is responsible for this publication and handling enquiries. FilmPass & Co is the publication’s display name. For privacy enquiries or requests, contact FilmPass.

If you contact us.

We receive your email address, any name you provide and your message. We use this to respond, consider feedback and keep a proportionate record of the enquiry. Our basis is legitimate interests in maintaining an accurate publication and responding to people who contact us, taking their interests into account. Where required by law, we rely on the relevant legal obligation.

Please do not send medical records, identity documents or payment-card details in an initial message. Contact is voluntary; we may need enough information to understand and answer your request. We do not use enquiries for advertising or publish them.

Website technology and service providers.

FilmPass uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, page views, countries, referring websites where available, and page performance. A script in the browser sends measurement information to Cloudflare, and we use the resulting reports to understand how this educational resource is used. Cloudflare states that this analytics service does not use cookies or local storage, or fingerprint individuals, to collect usage metrics. FilmPass does not use these reports for advertising, CRM enrichment or identifying individual visitors. The interactive examples run in your browser using invented records. The site does not submit an enquiry form. FilmPass does not run advertising tags, fraud-prevention scripts or session recording on this reader.

Cloudflare Pages provides hosting and delivery for this domain and may process IP addresses and request information to deliver and secure the service. The pages use fonts already available on your device and do not request fonts from an external service. Hosting and analytics involve processing information; a static educational website is not the same as a website that processes no information. Google Workspace provides email services for enquiries. Information is handled by people authorised by FilmPass and, where necessary, relevant professional advisers or authorities. Google services may involve processing outside the UK; see Google’s privacy information and Google’s Workspace Data Processing Addendum. We will update this notice if the hosting or features change.

Retention and your rights.

We retain enquiry information for as long as needed to respond, review feedback and account for our handling, or meet applicable legal requirements. We review whether continued retention is necessary and delete or anonymise information no longer needed.

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the address above. We do not make solely automated decisions about enquiries. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Public content and enquiries.

This edition contains our account of why research began, general explanations, fictional examples and public references. It does not contain the private evidence archive or case-document access links. If content identifies you unnecessarily or contains inaccurate personal information, tell us the page and passage so we can review it.
